Yep, I'm with the 'if it ain't broke ...' crowd. I've used Sennheisers and Beyers - both very good, but every time I've been let loose with a hire PA and get to sing into an SM58, no matter how battered, I get at least an equal sound and the mic always feels so sturdy. My partner is still using the SM58 he picked up secondhand for twenty quid in the 1980s.
