Fascinating thread. Just a note on the "making hay"..........probably from his Monaghan roots but could be connected to the Irish proverb "Make hay while the sun shines". Basically this means get on with whatever you are doing while you can.... He was hoping to develop the relationship........She wasn't having it ....... He's not making hay.
