That's pretty interesting. I guess it was the organizers' ability to manipulate the media that made it look like there were droves of students. I'd be interested to hear the "reality" version of the student protests from people who were actually there. From what I'd read and seen, it seemed like there was more solidarity and motivation than what Peace is indicating there. Would you say it's more about a lack of effective leaders than the apathy, lack of stability, etc., people usually cite as reasons for low protest visibility? Now what would be really funny is if Bush comes up with an "honorable withdrawal" plan for Iraq, pulls the troops out, and then gets impeached as Iraq further disintegrates into chaos.
