I played with all types of stemware as a kid. In this case it was the first time I noticed that more water in the glass made for a lower tone. When I was a kid I wasn't interested in the physics just the tone. Now I am fascinated by much more. The Glass Armonica is played the same way with all the discs in a trough. I'm not sure the trough is full of water. The slightly bowl shaped discs are supported through the middle on a rod. The size of the discs determines the tone. They are not stem ware full of water. Richard's explanation and gargoyle's blueclicky makes some sense to me. Thank you all for the insight. Don
