I always thought that "Hotel California" was a bit dark and scary. "Dear Mr President" by Pink is very evocative, particularly when you see the video (you can find it on YouTube) There are loads more which give me that feeling. As far as poems go, check out "The Haggis of Private MacPhee" by Robert Service, I've never been able to recite it without breaking down.
