GUEST,art Lyr Add: rewritten version of Our Town (de Ment) (9) RE: Help: 'our town' rewrite 20 Mar 00

nothing seems to work for me, even tried scanning the printed page but that won't copy so I'll try longhand.

this for Daryl Cutts, Giles Cottam, and Alec Pantling, all 17/18 years old who died in a car crash 10th March, they were all from or near the small town of Clare, Nr. Sudbury, Suffolk, u.k.

CHORUS: Don't you know that some suns set fast
And just like they say nothing good ever lasts
Go now we'll kiss you goodbye
We'll hold on to your love 'cause our hearts bound to die
Go now, we'll say goodbye, from our town, from our town

On the market hill 'neath the yellow streetlight
That's where they'd meet and chat almost every night
They didn't do drugs and not much beer
Now there's 3 less but they'll always be here

chorus

They were our babies, never had their first kiss
There are no words to say how much they'll be missed
Went Sudbury for a laugh and the crack
Got halfway and they're not coming back

chorus

You bury your father or bury your mum
You never think you'll ever bury a son
People send flowers, every day,
The words are a blur when you read what they say

Don't you know that some suns set fast
And just like they say, nothing good ever lasts
Go now, we'll kiss you goodbye
We'll hold on to your love 'cause our hearts bound to die
Go now, we'll say goodbye from our town, from our town
We've lost three sons from our little town, from our town goodnight.

I cant sing very well these days and have tried to sing over the Kate Rusby version, but don't know if it scans properly.
I'd appreciate any helpful comments
the funeral is on Friday 24th March at 2.00pm GMT any prayers at that time would be appreciated.
thanks in advance
