It's that time of the month again! P.M.T. (Pete's Monthly Turns) at the Abbey Inn, Newlay, Leeds, next Monday March 5th, from 8pm.

The idea is to have three or four performers play a couple of short (20-25 minute) sets, in an informal, entirely unplugged format. This will be our fourth one.

This month features:

Roger Davies, a fine singer-songwriter, from Huddersfield. With his strong lyrics and subtle melodies, he's cut from the same cloth as Pete Morton.

Jimmy Connell, who's well known on the West Yorkshire scene for his gentle, effective singing and playing. His own songs are heartfelt portraits of working class life.

The Allensmith, a duo featuring Barry Smith, who sings, plays whistles and writes many of the songs, and Dave Allen, the excellent guitarrist with ten fingers as opposed to the comedian with nine and a half. Barry is the leader of West Port the Irish band so the duo gives him a chance to play his songs in a more intimate format.

Mark Chambers, who will be a new name to many of you. He plays regularly at our Tuesday night sessions and has a huge voice, impressive guitar chops and a great songwriting style.

The ethos of the P.M.T. sessions is to give a platform to talented Tuesday night regulars and to invite fine performers from further afield to play an intimate set. It's a lovely, laid back evening and it would be brilliant if you could come down and be part of it.
