Just posted the words to Simple Life on a separate "LYR ADD" thread. (Maybe using a separate thread makes it easier for the site managers to find songs to add into the database, I don't know).
This is the first time I have taken advantage of the "multimedia capabilities" of my nifty new computer to transcribe the words right off the CD into Wordperfect, then cut & paste into the DT submission! That "pause" button is extremely handy, as is the "rewind" button calibrated to the nearest second! ... not at all like the old days of trying to transcribe from a record player without creating hopeless scratches ... or from a cassette tape, without stretching the tape beyond recognition from repeated replays.
On my CD-ROM, if I want the album & song titles to appear as they play, I have to type them all in by hand. I gather the technology does exist to have this appear automatically. (Is it a question of my CD-ROM? - or of the CD itself?). The next step would be to have all the *words* appear automatically as the CD played, i.e. automatic self-transcription! Wouldn't that make life simple?!
(Or is that perhaps _not_ what Valdy had in mind when he wrote about the "Simple Life"???)
In any case, all this leads up to the point that Valdy *does* have CDs out, at least the two that I own:
(1) "Valdy - Classic Collection" (P) 1988 A&M Records of Canada Ltd. - CD #9147
(2) "Smorgasbard" - Festival Distribution Inc. - Order from: 1-800-JOE-RADIO (1-800-563-7234)
plus I have a cassette tape which I believe ?is still available - "Valdy's Kid's Record", manufactured & distributed by Rack on Tour, P.O. 1198, Ganges, B.C., Canada, V0S 1E0
And of course various records can still be found here & there.
Good luck searching! ... let me know how you fare!
