I've just heard through the grapevine of a concert this weekend which promises to be the business! Two mandolin stalwarts - Dan Beimborn (Shatter The Calm, Torch And Fire) and Kevin Macleod (Springwell, From Polbain To Oranmore, Dorney Rock) - playing live. First time I've come across these two sharing the same bill.

Can't believe I haven't heard of this one until now. But I'll be there, for sure!

The gig is at Lewisham Irish Centre which, despite the name, is actually in Catford. It kicks off at 8:00. The Lewisham Irish Centre is in Davenport Road, Catford. I'm told that there are loads of buses which stop right on the corner of Davenport Road and that the nearest train stations are Catford and Catford Bridge. I don't know that line well so I'm planning to get to Lewisham and catch a cab (about a fiver, I'm told).

I gather that Beimborn is to be supported by Paddy Gallagher and Macleod by Ewan McPherson. The blurb promises special guests. I dont know if PAddy and Ewan count as the special guests. Maybe there'll be others!?
