A film can rarely capture the true meaning of a book. One loses, usually, the nuances and the pictures that only your own mind can conjure up. I have seen both the film (years ago) and read the book (years ago). The film, as I recall was a great disappointment after having read the book. The same for 1984. Why can no one capture 1984, Winston, Big Brother, and all the meaning---it turns into what later became an Isomething or other commercial and, of course, never forget the terror part in the room all fear. Better in the book. Bill Hahn
