Dave, I went to the funeral. The place was packed with appreciative fans of John's. The chapel was heaving. Yes, a piper, a person I've seen somewhere before, did play the Flowers of the Forest as the coffin was carried in. Adrian gave a little talk about the last visit he paid to John in hospital. He said he was drifting in and out of consciousness but was aware of what was going on around him. That was two days before the end. There were three other speakers I didn't know. Classical musicians played towards the end of the service. It was a fitting tribute to a great person and musician, Unfortunately my son - JohnJ - couldn't make it due to exams but there were many from the folk fraternity present. I hope this gives you some idea about the turnout. We shall miss him - RIP. HelenJ.
