Gene Clark was, indeed, the consummate musician, comfortable with all types of music. I never saw him perform with the Byrds or with Jim McGuinn, but I did see him play and sing with Douglas Dilliard after each of them had left their respective groups. Man, he gave bluegrass a different sound that I had never heard. I also have an album of the "Flying Burrito Brothers" somewhere -- I kinda remember him in that group also. |
