Don't know where you got your info bubblyrat, but I clearly remember the launch of that fine Clyde built ship and I can assure you that it is indeed called "Queen Elizabeth the Second" English subsidising the Scots?.....thats a good one too! I've heard countless figures being quoted for this, (all by unionist parties) the sums of which vary greatly. The fact is, the South of England is the most feathered part of the uk with all sorts of money being ploughed in there to keep employment levels up etc. If England was paying for Scotland as you suggest, they would have dumped us years ago! it's not a great way to do business after all. If you take away the oil and whisky revenues (not to mention tourism) there wouldn't be much left for Westminster's coffers. What English industries produce money for the government on such a scale?
