I am after the words and music for a Victorian era music hall song titled "Gently Does the Trick" composed by Punch Browne and 'sung with immense success' by comic singer Arthur Corney. I have only the following fragment of the words: Some people go to church, they say they go to pray, While others go to see what they can take away. And some hand round the plate and some look most devout, While some put three pennies I and others take 'em out. NB There is an entirely different song, also titled "Gently Does the Trick", popularized by American hillbilly singer Carson Robison, who died in 1957. This is not the song I am after. Can anyone help me with the Punch Browne song?
