As Rick knows, after a lot of agonizing I appeared for some while on an interfaith series broadcast by the station he speaks of. The first time I went, the previous show that they were airing was about Christian evangelists going to Nepal and standing outside of Buddhist temples confronting people and asking them if they had ever heard of Jesus Christ. Being Nepalese Buddhists, they were very polite to these proselytes, but I just about got up and walked out while they were making me up for the program. The only reason I stayed on was because the following program was completely separate and run by a non-Christian -- they have to run these interfaith things to keep their licence. In fact, they run the best TV program I have ever seen on Judaism, called Passages, which has 3 Jewish rabbis/scholars sitting around discussing the Talmud, the Tanakh, and so on. Well worth watching if you are in reach of the signal or have it on cable. The rest of it is as Rick describes (and is not like Vision). However, it still makes me uneasy supporting this channel in any way -- and anyway I have no time to do it anymore. Thread creep: people have mentioned great gospel music from time to time, particularly early stuff. Any recommendations from the knowledgeable? yours, Peter T.
