Unfortunately, no matter how much I try to drum it into my kids heads about stranger danger and scream, scream, scream, they still don't seem to get it.

Down my road, there is someone, who I am fairly sure is a potential child abuser, but have no proof. He displays certain behaviour, which could be construed as him being a raving paedophile, but as I said I have no proof, and I wish it to remain so.
He worked for a little while at my primary school as a supply teacher, but soon left admidst a cloud of uncertainty, and mystery, and was never allowed to go back. He is smarmy, and latches onto mothers , and fathers with small kiddies. You can see the discomfort in their (the parents) faces, as they seem too polite to tell him to go away.
One day I caught him talking to my son, when he was outside, and I quickly hurried up the conversation with an excuse to get my boy in. I told him again for the umpteenth time, never to speak to that man, and to not make conversation. My parents think its alright unless he invites my kids into his home. I personally think that it is not right, and under no circumsatnces should they talk to this guy.

As it happens, the last time I saw him out, my daughter said hello to him, I told her once again, do not talk to him etc etc etc even if an adult is with her etc.

The guy, makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, and I have never been wrong about creep factors yet. I also am against capital punishment, but seriously believe, in cases where there is no doubt whatsoever that someone is a paedophile, they should be culled. At the very least, placed on an island where they can live like normal, but never, ever come into contact with families and children. It is a sickness that can never be broken, if someone is inclined to sexually abuse children, they cannot help themselves, and npo amount of reconditioning back into society helps. Many (UK) go underground, and set up or join what is commonly known as paedophile rings, where they look out for each other, and effectively groom youngsters for each other.

Sorry for the rant. And good on the girl for doing what she did. Unfortunately when faced in such a situation, even the most savvy 'streetsmart' kid can become dumbstruck with shock.
