I feel one reason for the demise of the Folk Clubs is the lack of back rooms in pubs. They all want to be open spaces serving food. We, in Wimborne, are fortuate enough to have our own room in a British Legion club and a singaround club has grown into a venue for good quality music making. We leave the other clubs in the area to book the 'stars' of the folk world while we enjoy a cross-section of music. However anyone under 50 needs a note from their parents.
