Ian Burdon What got you hooked on folk music? (130* d) RE: What got you hooked on folk music? 10 May 07

The music has always been there as part of the background of my life and a number of artists consigned to the "folk" bucket were well known to me, but the first piece of performed 'folk music' which really caught my attention and didn't let go was Dave Burland singing "The Shooting of his Dear" (introduced as a Newfoundland variant on Polly Vaughn")on the radio.
