I'm a big fan of Bruce Springsteen, with far too many boots, but this phase of his career leaves me cold. He is great at blue-eyed soul, great at rock, very good at acoustic songs (the acoustic Seeds is excellent, as are the first performances of This Hard land, for example) but he isn't a folksinger, and the people playing with him are not great either. Suzie Tyrell? I'd rather have Swarb.
