My result was: Northeastern! I suppose that NEARLY ties in with where I live on the UK weather map. There seems to be a lot of nit picking going on folks. Don't forget it's a FUN QUIZ not a piece of serious linguistic demographic research. I find it interesting that all the Brits (Scottish, Welsh, North and South of England) and the Aussies all seem to test out as Northeastern USA. If you got us together, we would not sound even slightly similar, but we must have something which distinguishes us from (for example) the Southern States or the "Neutral American" Midwest accent. [ Oh Bog! So much for it not being linguistic research...] I surmise that there must be some specific U.S. regional pronunciations which none of us would EVER use (maybe one such as rhyming ON with LAWN). If you use such rules to ELIMINATE the possibly results one at a time the final answer will be the only one (of the allowed choices) not eliminated. Quack! Geoff.
