Well in England "bird" is I'm afraid a (little bit derogatory) slang term for the female of the species - perhaps even with the connotation of capable of being sexually active. Once I started thinking in that vein Áine I just couldn't stop myself. With all these drinking songs you lot are going to think me a dipsomaniac. (I was a serious boozer once - far more moderate these days). Glad to hear it made you titter...! Hyp (David)
