Are you saying employees can't be happy and healthy without a union ??    For your information, Dianavan, I have spent 2 decades working for an auto manufacturing facility (Japanese), and have seen the UAW try on several occasions to get in. Imagine how 5000 new members would increase their bottom line. However, they have failed each and every time, not due to intimidation (the company does nothing of the sort), but due to the fact that the employees know how well we are treated (pay + benefits), and we don't need a union. The common response employees give is 'why pay the outrageous dues, they can't get us any more than we have now'. The only reason people might like to see the union get in is they like the idea that it is much more difficult, if not impossible, to get fired, and they can 'stand around doing nothing' without recourse. Only the lazy workers like the idea of a union getting in. When it comes to productivity, we would eat GM's lunch. When GM is on strike, we're working away every day. Take that Mick !!!
