Hi there A new singaround is starting in Leeds, next Monday July 2nd. It's at the Owl in Rodley and will kick off weekly at 8pm or thereabouts. As some of you may know, Peter Abrahams, the erstwhile genial mein host of the Abbey Inn, Newlay has just moved to the Owl and he's keen to carry on the tradition of live music in his new pub. If you've ever been to the Abbey on a Tuesday, you'll know what to expect. A laid-back sort of evening with the emphasis on having fun. There are no hard an fast rules regarding the type of performance - songs (from any genre - sing what you like!), tunes, poems, monologues. Anything goes. The Abbey has been very successful in encouraging people who've never sung in public to give it a bash and keep at it, and we hope that the Owl will have a similar effect so if you know someone who'd like to have a go, tell them they'd be welcome. So if you live close enough, and are free on Mondays, pop down. It would be lovely to see you. The Abbey, of course carries on apace every Tuesday! Diolch Wayne
