Amen to that! My favourite "ugly American" story at present: A friend of mine was in line at security at a major US airport. Ahead of him was a gentleman who had neglected to remove his shoes; as he was apologising--and removing his shoes--the security guy glanced at the fellow's Canadian passport and remarked: "That's the problem with you Europeans, you don't have your priorities straight." Alas, 'nuff said. ~D
