The Albert Vaults has just closed down. Officialy it is up to let but let's face it, the likelihood is a convenient fire and a pristine site in one of the (unbelievably) up and coming areas of Salford. The Salford Arms is pretty run down nowadays and the Rovers Return wouldn't win a lot of prizes for presentation. The Punch Bowl, the Tallow Tub and the Ship are all sadly history. The best pub in the area is the Kings Arms down Bloom Street which has a great selection of real ales, a really nice landlord, a good atmosphere and lovely barstaff - and live music and good food on a regular basis as well. And no,I'm not on commission! A bit further down is the Crescent which is a great pub as well.
