GUEST,In the woods Lyr Req: Wagoner's Lad variant (9) Wagoners Lad rendition kinda 07 Jul 07

Has anyone heard or know of the lyrics of the song that starts out as the Wagoners Lad
Oh hard is the fortune of all women kind, etc.etc.

But then the second verse tells a different story, same melody:

Well she was a young girl and she loved to sing
Her voice was as sweet as the breaking of spring
Her boyfriend played bass and they made quite a pair
But their love and their music was all that they shared

Then the story line goes one about how she had babies and stayed home while he went on the road playing till she dumped him and found her own voice and sang for herself - or something like that. Kinda along the lines of a feminist song, at least that is when I first heard it - during that time about 30(?) years ago.
Been trying to find the lyrics to the rest of the song but have come up with nothing.
Anyone?
