When I was living in Heidelberg, Germany, the "fraternities" (Studentkooperationen) would come out in uniform on the night of May 1st for "Maisingen" which was to thank the city for it's collective hospitality. This in turn has become an opportunity for the left-wing types to come out in droves to chant & drown them out, as these "fraternities" have gotten a bit of a reputation as being right-wing & nationalistic to a fault & some of the songs allegedly sung (couldn't hear them for the din)were to have beem popularized by the charming bunch who ran the show from '33-'45. Last one I saw was circa '92/'93 & has probably since been cancelled as the police presence was very heavy & bottles were flying.
