"Snapping for a seven" -- snapping the fingers as the bones hit the ground or bounced off the wall -- was, depending on the players, a bit of superstitious invocation of good luck, or maybe more narrowly an attempt to get the attention of the Goddess of Good Fortune (a.k.a.
