The OP, that is me...has praised Eliza Carthy over and over on the BBC board you know. I'd suggest you track them back 'Ruth' I can still recall her singing 'Colours' at Sidmouth 2004 which was in the Channel 4 programme...and how I raved about that song and that voice! However, to me she does sing some downbeat, dreary songs at time, which I feel does not put her voice in the best light. She has a sensational voice when she picks the right song... Purely my opinion though, to which I am perfectly entitled. Thanks Lizzie
