Hi all, Just joined you at the Mudcat Cafe and wondered if anyone could help with a song from my childhood. I had a wonderful teacher during the late sixties (originally from Singapore) who taught us lots of old British folk songs, which we'd sing while he played the piano. I can remember some lyrics and the tune from one paricular song, but can't find it anywhere. It goes; I walk along the roads and highways, Singing as I swing along, Through all the country lanes and byways, What is life without a happy song? Chorus: Up with the dawn, welcome to the morn, Day by day goes by, Monarch for the day of all that I survey, I'm king of the road am I. Can anyone help?
