Thank you so much. I have been trying to remember the words to this song for 40 years. I sang it at Girl Scout Camp in the 50's. I am also looking for the words to and name of a song the first line of which is

Beyond the plain of gold and green,
a young boy's head is plainly seen.

Or something like that.
