its not surprising at all, this exercise has been stupefyingly incompetent from the start. 3months before the invasion- Bush was apparently unaware that Iraq was made up of Sunnis and Shiites 'I thought they were all Muslims'... allowing the looting and destruction of many govt. facilities - including the training centres of the fedayeen - Youd think that you might want to get the names and addresses of the people that will be fighting against you. further - alienate much of the population by disbanding the army - thereby creating a cadre of young, embittered and ARMED men who now cannot feed there families.. and repeat the process by alienating the Sunnis - with the deBaathification policy.. etc. etc.
