Memo to Bruce Farwell: I cannot bear to think of Len Chandler as "little-known", but I guess you'd have to say that as performers go, he was a folksinger's folksinger. He had such a huge influence on the writing and performing styles of so many of us, including some who climbed to the very top of the fame ladder. Fortunately, Len did very well in the song-writing end of things, and never did fade away. He operated a successful and high-profile song-writing school in LA until just a few years ago, when he decided to retire. Last time I spoke with him, he and his lovely wife, Olga, had just returned from travelling in Europe. Balladeer
