Agree about Early Morning Rain. Remember Peter Paul & Mary playing it (live I think) on UK television mid to late 60's. Badgered my dad into working out the chords for me. I don't play it so often (can't sing to save my life) but when I do I still use the same chords; G, Bm Am D7 G G Am D7 G But there's so much singable material from the sixties, you'd be hard pressed not to find something you liked.
