I remember him as a fantastic street busker outside the [4th St?]Greenwich Village subway station on 7th Ave, across the street from where the Folklore Center ended up after Izzy moved it off MacDougal St., ca 1965. REALLY worn thru top on that old [ Guild ? ] guitar, from Richie's inimitable strum stylings. He also played "backwards", if I remember correctly, fretting directly across the neck in place of the usual wrap-around hand position. And what a voice ! A friend tempted fate one time asking him to play "All I want for Christmas", as this was before Mr Havens had the dental work to fill the gap. We were young, foolish and politically incorrect. Impressed and impressionable. Thank you Richie !! Riggy
