This is a true story, oft told in my local The Bull at Ambridge.

A wizened old man was taking his daily walk in the leafy lanes near his home when he hears a small voice calling. He looks around but sees no one and is about to continue when he hears it again and notices that the voice is coming from a small frog by the edge of a lilly pond. He squints and turns his good ear to the frog. "I'm not a frog the frog croaks, but a beautiful princess turned into a frog by a wicked witch. All I need is a kiss and the spell will be broken and I'll turn into my former self. If you kiss me, I promise I'll fulfil all your wildest dreams, wink, wink. The old man smiles thoughtfully and picks up the frog and pops it into his pocket. After a few minutes the frog shouts out "Hey why haven't you kissed me yet?" The old man hobbles on and eventually replies soulfully, "My dear, at my age I'd rather have a talking frog".
