The Brighton Taverners started playing on the south-east folk circuit in the mid 70s. Their repertoire had many local connections and included songs from the Copper family as well as by (then) local songwriters Steve Knightley, Allan Taylor and Miles Wootton. They have always acknowledged a great debt of gratitude to Paul Downes, Phil Beer and Steve Knightley, who all gave them advice & support as well as adding immeasurably to their albums as backing musicians. During this period they released three albums which have now been remastered to CD-R. If anyone is interested - email sr@stureed.co.uk
