From: greg stephens: Interesting there is a virtually total lack of school references in English language folksong, as far as I know. "To see the young collegians a-playing at the ball" is about all I can come up with. Can I suggest The Two Brothers: Two pretty boys were coming from school In the evening going home. Said the elder boy to the littler boy 'Oh, can you throw a stone' 'It's little I can throw a stone' he said 'And little play at ball. But if you come down to yonder green wood I'll try you a wrestling fall.' Not a great advert for their PE teacher.
