"Guest" is correct in thinking that everyone working on Eisteddfod-NY is a volunteer. That includes the people planning the festival as well as all the work on the weekend itself. Only the performers who are not members of Folk Music Society of NY/NY Pinewoods Folk Music Club are paid. We have some slots open for responsible volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, in exchange for free admission, contact us through our web site, www.eisteddfod-ny.org. LODGINGS The Pinewoods Club is seeking local people who can put up guests during Eisteddfod. First we place the performers, then the volunteers, and then the members of associated organizations (groups that agree to help us get the word out about Eisteddfod-NY in exchange for members' admission prices.) We will put up as many people as we can. Hosts get free admission to the festival. See our web site at www.eisteddfod.org for specifics. In 2003 & 2004 in Brooklyn in August we had lodgings at the college dormitory. In November the dormitory is full of students. There are reasonable motels (reasonable for NYC) not far away. I believe the names & locations of motels are on the web site. There are inexpensive hostels in Manhattan, probably 45 minutes away by subway. We an get a group rate at one of them, but so far no one has asked about group rates or hostels. Guest is right that we are not perfect, but you can enjoy a superb festival with outstanding performers and a friendly audience. Come see. (Sorry I can't figure out how to "make a blue clicky")
