I've known Del for years now and have lots of happy memories - mainly of laughter, of virtuoso music, but also of genuine thoughtfulness - he took me to hospital once when he was staying with us and my then hubbie couldn't get away from work. He cooks the meanest curries too. I remember his getting us into the artist's tent at Cambridge (told them we were his kids) and another time when we asked for the words of a song (I think it was "Love of a Portuguese"), he sat down and recorded it for us in our front room. He recorded a live album, ages back at Trimdon folk club - and we were there. The last time we saw him was at Norwich just after a landmark wedding anniversary of his and had me in tears with his rendition of "Dear Old Dutch". Let's hope the pacemaker is a success and lots of people have lots more opportunities to see this maestro performer strutt his stuff. Good Luck Brimmers.
