I always thought the first line of the chorus was "Where's Your Pow", sung in a stylized manner that altered the vowel in "Where's" to make it more lyrical. You know what I mean? "Where's" wound up sounding like "Wheee(ehr)'s". Still doesn't make sense, though. In the chorus, I think "You folks had oughta see me now...." might actually be "You folks should oughta see me now...."? Hard to tell, with the "s" at the end of "folks" getting in the way. Since I'm not familiar with either of those slang constructions ("had oughta"/"should oughta"), I Googled them both. "You had oughta" had 2 results, and "you should oughta" had over 500. So, I vote for "You folks should oughta see me now". In the last verse, the line in question sounds to me like: "And a guy ahead's hitching someplace" Once again, doesn't make a lot of sense, but it sounds fairly clear to me. Thanks to all who contributed! The mysterious lyrics to this tune have been bothering me for years! Jared
