No one respects Jack's musicianship and writing ability more than me, but there are reasons he falls between the cracks and I don't know what he can do about it. It#s cetainly nothing to do with his obvious talent and ability. For the folkies he's too American in his pronunciation, phrasing and word choices. Fake American accents are the kiss of death to British festival bookers etc. For country people he's far too literate and requires too much mental concentration. Jack is unique and like most unique people in an age of "celebrity" he has to chip out his own niche and get satisfaction from knowing he's appreciated by a cogniscenti, small though it may be. The trick is not to get bitter but to continue to get better and to remember the phrase "you never know" and carry on the journey.
