Last year was brilliant (we obviously found somewhere else to park and experienced no problems) and the line-up for this year looks equally good.
Last year, we seemed to be the only people there with kids under about 15. We ourselves were at the young end of the audiences, in our thirties - the only younger folk seemed to be late teens with parents. This year, due to increased prices and revised charging for youngsters, we shall not be going since we cannot afford the £100 hike for the family! We had originally suggested that another family travelled up for this year's festival and stayed with us, since we had such a ball last time, but they certainly cannot afford this year's prices.
I'm sure the venues have put up their prices and the artists are more expensive etc. etc. but that kind of a price increase, which is most noticeable with a young family, is eventually going to impact on the next generation of folkies.
