Amergin One thing that most people don't realize is that the best evidence supports the testimony of the majority of the guardsman that they fired into the air, not into the crowd. Anyone who has seen what a trained M1 rifle company can do to a crowd in an open field in 13 seconds will bear this out. The M1 is a state of the art killing machine. It gives a trained user the ability to kill at 1/3 of a mile. Had the bulk of the guardsman actually fired at students for those 13 seconds it wouldn't have been 4, it would have been forty.
