I've been trying to remember the rest of the lyrics to this song for years now! I learned it in girl scout camp only about 14 years ago, so it's been around a while. Of course, they taught it as "old BIG Joe" because "Old Black Joe" would have probably not been pc. Dana, I know the lyrics you're talking about, but I learned this as a completely different song. We called it the Billboard song. This is what I remember of it: As I was walking down the street One dark and dreary day I came upon a billboard And much to my dismay The sign was torn and tattered From the storm the night before The wind and rain had done its job And this is what I saw: Smoke Coca-Cola chewing gum, Chew Wrigley's Spearmint Beer, Kennel Ration dog food Keeps your complexion clear, Simonise your baby With a Hershey's candy bar, And Pepsi-Cola beauty cream Is used by all the stars! So, take your next vacation In a brand-new Frigidaire, Learn to play the piano In your winter underwear, Doctors say that babies Should smoke until they're 3 (or 4!), And people over 65 Should bathe in Lipton tea! (Hey!)
