To anyone who has never been to Staithes. Staithes is sort of in two pieces, one an established town as you see everywhere at the top of a steep road(this is where the Captain Cook is and the bulk of the happenings). At the bottom is a stunning, historic fishing village as beautiful in its own way as any you would see in Cornwall or Devon. It really is captivating on a warm balmy summers night and even without the music in abundance it is a hidden treasure on the North East coast well worth a visit. So why not sample the village and the fest in one go. Tell your friends and if they are up for a song or two or not, they will have a ball. That's a promise. KD
