It's usually a fairly big session at the Dusty Miller with a mix of instruments. There's usually a couple of piano accordions and 3 or 4 melodeons (usually only 1 at a time!), 2 or 3 concertinas, 3 or 4 fiddles, a guitar or two (rarely more than one), a cuatro amusingly called 'Suzy', several sizes of recorders and whistles, flute, cornamuse, octave fiddle, a couple of dulcimers and a bowed psaltery. I don't *think* I've forgotten anything. There are several singers (but more tunes than songs on an average night). The type of music varies from Playford tunes to Red Rose Cafe, some Irish trad., some Welsh, Scottish, some Morris tunes. I would say that most is trad. but not all. The crowd is mainly the Shroppie Fly contingent so, if you're familiar with that session ... It's a good session and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
