"I remember getting GBH of the ear'ole from the great god McColl for mistakenly announcing 'Jowl and listen, lads' (Tommy Armstrong ? Jack Elliott ?) as traditional." Before this escapes from the thread and turns into an urban myth, I believe Jowl Jowl IS traditional. Certainly not by Armstrong or Pop Elliot. Collected from a miner called Natrass in the 50s or early 60s I think.
