More than fifty years ago, my grandmother from Poland sang this melody with different words. Phonetically, as I recall (with apologies): Krasnoy oy oblitcha, Belle eets vet, Teemeen a lyubitcha, Netsee bya net, Teemeen a lyubitcha, Nit toy dom, Teemeen a zhervushka, shtoy oovalooba lum. That's just the way I remember it. It may make no sense at all, but she said something about white and pink flower petals and a young man who wants the love of a girl. But the music is the same as that posted by Joe Offer on 11 Feb. 99. Can anyone elucidate? Many thanks.
