Dolans bar by the docks area of town... Get taxi there and back (don't walk alone in this area)... great session and music venue.

Also contact the college as there's a great trad music course there they might know of sessions too.

Also, King John's Castle is a must, and a nice town walk around that area and Treaty Stone. Bunratty Castle and park - kind of park filled with old style Irish houses - interesting place. Just outside Limerick.

Just walking around the city is good fun too - though watch out for ponys and traps as a few people dash about town in racing traps on the roads... so look out!
